Not Much Going On This Week….

I wish I had more to report, but I’ve had a cold that’s been kicking my butt all week.  I got a bit more work done on the pair of socks I’ve been working on — I’m about 2″ away from starting the toes.  The person they are for has seen them and likes them, including liking the navy I chose for the contrast (heels and toes) color. Once I get some writing deadlines out of the way, I should be able to breeze through the rest of the socks in a couple of hours.

The yarn for the next project — socks for a friend’s boss — is wound already, and I just need to check that she still wants them. It’s good to see my project list beginning to shrink a bit, although my Ravelry queue increases at a rate to more than compensate for anything I get finished.

When I’m in Manhattan tomorrow, I need to hit a yarn shop (I’m thinking of Gotta Knit on 34th Street, or Lion Brand on West 15th Street).

Anyway, I need to get back to work, so onwards and upwards!

Progress of a Sort!

It’s been a very busy day at Chez Wunder.

After getting no writing work for six months, I am suddenly inundated with assignments. So knitting has been mostly pushed aside.

However I was able to deliver the first two pairs of socks to my accountant last night (she loved them).  And I am well on the way down the foot of the current pair of socks.

Unfortunately, I cannot provide pictures at the moment, because my iPhone decided to drop dead about ten minutes ago. I am in the process of restoring it, but until that is done, I can’t take pics.  Such is life.

Anyway, I must get back to work — deadlines wait for no woman, and I do need to get some sleep tonight, because I have a doctor’s appointment in the morning.

Still Recovering…

I’m still kind of tired most of the day, so I’m taking it very easy.

I am, however, working on a pair of socks — Hermione’s Everyday Socks — for my friend Joanne:

I really love making this particular pattern, too.  It really hows off variegated yarns quite nicely. (I apologize for the picture quality – just did a quick snap with my iPhone.)

Anyway, I have a batch of things to work on, once I get my stamina back.  I have commissions for another scarf, and several pairs of socks, plus a few project I would like to get finished that I found when I was cleaning the house lat month.  Plus, you know, the logarithmically expanding queue on Ravelry.

Catching Up…

I apologize for missing posting on Tuesday, but I spent most of Tuesday, all of Wednesday, and the beginning of Thursday on a stretcher in the ER at Beth Israel. I think it’s a legitimate excuse, but I really don’t want to have to use it too darned often.

The scarf did get finished and mailed out, and I’m now working on a pair of socks for a client. Haven’t heard yet whether the client likes the scarf, but it got mailed out a day later than it should have, because of the hospital thing.

Anyway, I’m now home, and catching up on things.  Will have a regular post for everyone on Tuesday.
